The athlete goes through a stage of via Postumia, an ancient consular road that leads from Aquileia to Genoa. Almost all on the plain, it runs along dirt roads or small grassy paths or service roads to the vineyards. Always far from the usual communication routes, it offers peace and clear air that accompany the walker through the countryside. He does not suffer from fatigue, but rather draws strength from it. Via Postumia can also be traveled by bike and connects the port of Aquileia with that of Genoa, meeting the Via Francigena on its way. We are therefore not surprised to find traces of it in the diary of a pilgrim who went from Bordeaax to Jerusalem. Built by Postumio Albino in 148 a. C. was consolidated as a military road by Augustus and today as then it is possible, for many original stretches, to walk it. The walk allows you to get to know interesting historic cities such as Spineto which, located on a hill overlooking the Scrivia valley, preserves the nineteenth-century Church of San Giacomo Apostolo.
