Posada: when the protection of the environment manage to keep nature master and wild

Where: posada
(Posada)
Genre: nature

Posada is a Sardinian town in the province of Nuoro which is one of the oldest inhabited centers on the island. The ancient Feronia was an important Etruscan center, in an uncontaminated stretch of coast. The town is dominated by the Castello della Fava, a medieval fortress home to the kings (called 'judges') of Gallura and Eleonora d'Arborea. To this day, the remains of the walls and the square tower, the terrace protected by a low wall and a series of water cisterns remain standing. Posada tourism is closely linked to the environment and the crystal clear sea. An environment that is protected by the administrations that with small but important precautions respect the nature and history of the village despite the tourist flow, making Posada a small corner of paradise. In fact, there are many places where even animals find refuge and it is possible for visitors to observe species such as flamingos or turtles. Places of naturalistic interest that alternate along the ponds and river areas.
