Florence: between art and history

Florence is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful cities in the world, a place that exudes history, culture and art from every corner. One of its most famous buildings is certainly the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore inside which there are some of the most important works of art of all time such as the fresco of the Last Judgment painted on the inside of Brunelleschi's Dome. Another symbol of the city is the picturesque Ponte Vecchio with its artisan shops where time seems to have stood still. Very impressive is also Piazza della Signoria with its splendid statues. Here stands the historic Palazzo Vecchio which currently houses the municipal offices. An obligatory stop for those in Florence is the Accademia Gallery where among the numerous works of art there is the famous David by Michelangelo. Also not to be missed is the Uffizi Museum which houses works by world famous artists such as Sandro Botticelli, Caravaggio, Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo Buonarroti. Of course, it is also advisable to taste typical dishes such as Florentine steak.
