We are in Monza, the capital of Brianza, which despite its proximity to Milan, retains all its personal splendor. Very famous for the national racetrack, where the Italian Formula 1 Grand Prix is held. It is crossed by the Lambro river and the artificial Lambretto river created in the fourteenth century for the defensive purpose of the city. Also the Canale Villorese, from the 19th century, which crosses the San Rocco district. The city is therefore rich in waterways and fountains, since Roman times where, however, they never built aqueducts. According to a legend, Queen Teodolinda fell asleep along the bank of the Lambro, in a dream she would have seen a dove that would have told her to dedicate that place to God by pronouncing the word way, she would have answered etiam and from the union of the two words it came out the name of the city. This event is visible in the fresco of the Monza Cathedral in the Chapel. Of Celtic origin, it also has various findings from the Bronze Age preserved in the Civic Museums. Also worth visiting is the Royal Villa of the Habsburgs from 1777.
