We are in the birthplace of Mozzarella di Bufala DOP, in the province of Salerno, in Battipaglia. On the hill overlooking the city, let's first visit the castle of Battipaglia also known as 'Castelluccio', a medieval building built around the year 1000 on commission by Roberto il Guiscardo. A peculiarity is, annexed to the castle, a small cave probably used as a shelter for livestock, once connected by internal walls. Inside the town we admire the Sanctuary of Santa Maria della Speranza, built in the Romanesque-basilical style, with references in some parts of the Byzantine style, it was of simple features, but from its beginning pervaded by humble and profound sacredness that aroused the affection and religiosity of entire generations of Battipagliesi. We then skirt the Sele river and walk among the beaches, such as the main Lido of Malibù. We conclude our holiday at Aquafarm, the amusement park suitable for both adults and children, in the name of pure fun.
