Lipari, a sweet island rich in millenary history

We are located in one of the very famous Aeolian islands, more precisely in Lipari, a sweet island to be experienced calmly, made up of beaches, trekking and history. This island, the largest, holds the history of the archipelago, with some of the most beautiful bays and its variety of hiking trails. In ancient times it was called Meligunis, sweet, and has always enclosed natural beauties, geological rarities, so much so that it became a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its white beach is the most visited, it is located in the pumice quarries, the water here has Caribbean colors, with a seabed made of white pebbles. This side of the coast ends with Punga Castgna, renowned for diving and snorkeling. Anord the Bay of Acquacalda overlooking the Salina. Its center is worth a visit, starting from Piazzetta Marina Corta, where fishermen dock with their goiters in the shadow of the Purgatory Church. Getting lost in the Arabian-flavored alleys you get to Civita, a fortified citadel that dominates the town. The acropolis and the Castle are an extraordinary example of history, with 10 meters of cultural stratification, contain finds ranging from the Neolithic to the 1800s.
