The secrets of Valtellina: Albosaggia

A few kilometers from the city of Sondrio, stands a wonderful mountain village, located in the Valtellina area. It is: Albosaggia, a village that has existed since 1200 and whose name seems to mean 'holy mountain'. In the center of this splendid village there is a castle, open to visitors, belonging to the Paribelli family, to which the ancient history of Albosaggia can be associated. Increasingly expanded over the centuries, the fortress is surrounded by a wonderful garden and fortified walls. Towards the end of the 1400s, a small church was then erected near this fortress, dedicated to San Nicola da Tolentino. Albosaggia is the ideal place to immerse yourself in nature, thanks to its breathtaking landscape. It is also possible to reach the mountain pastures, located in the highest part of the mountains. This is possible by following a dedicated path, which also includes the churches of Sant'Antonio and San Salvatore. Once you reach the top, the vegetation enjoys the presence of two beautiful lakes. A wonderful place to totally immerse yourself in nature!
