We are in the province of Sondrio, in Teglio where the pizzoccheri festival takes place every year. In fact, Teglio is considered the gastronomic capital of Valtellina and home of the Pizzoccheri. Pizzoccheri are the most important dish that goes from Grosio to Castione and sees Teglio as its epicenter, where an almost emotional bond has been established between this dish and its inhabitants. The main ingredient is buckwheat and all the research on the recipe for this dish brings back to Teglio. The recipe has been handed down for generations and the Accademia del Pizzocchero was founded in this town. The festival has been celebrated, for over sixty years, on the last weekend of July. In addition to tasting the pizzoccheri, prepared entirely on site, you can taste the sciatt, crispy Valtellina pancakes, grilled meat, salami and cheeses also typical of the Valtellina. We will taste it all with Valtellina DOCG wines, such as Valtellina Superiore Inferno DOCG, Valtellina Superiore Grumello DOCG and Sforzato di Valtellina DOCG.
