Lago Nero, Abetone, Pistoia mountains

We are in Tuscany, on the most popular and beautiful mountains of the Pistoia area, Abetone, a winter ski destination preferred by the inhabitants of the Pistoia area but also by the neighboring Emilia. To be exact, we are in the so-called Black Lake Ring, for an excursion, starting from near the Botanical Forestry garden of Abetine and along the Sestaione stream. From there we find ourselves immersed in the woods on dirt roads and then paths, which lead directly to the lake. For those who love trekking, it is also possible to stop at the refuge on the way, the shepherds' cottage, and take refreshment at the fountain. The Nero lake is of glacial origin surrounded by very high reliefs that reach up to two thousand meters above sea level. All around the forest and its silence, made up of paths and stony sections.
