The wonders of Ravello

Where: ravello
(Ravello)
Genre: events    culture   nature

In Campania, more precisely in the province of Salerno, there is Ravello, considered one of the most exciting villages on the Amalfi coast. One of the most important religious buildings in the village dates back to the eleventh century and stands in the main square of Ravello: the small Cathedral. The entrance to Villa Rufolo, on the right of the square, is marked by the medieval tower. This ancient historic villa is characterized by the presence of a tree-lined avenue, which leads to a cloister in Islamic style, called the Moorish cloister. In the courtyard of the villa, there is an immense tower thirty meters high and divided into three floors, inside which are exhibited multimedia exhibitions concerning the history of Villa Rufolo and the city of Ravello, known as Torre Maggiore. Furthermore, it is possible to reach the top of the Tower, from which it is possible to see the magnificent panorama of the Gulf of Salerno. The villa hosts, every year, the Ravello Festival, an event based on classical music, cinema and cultural attractions. Ravello is therefore a village that with its nature, which alternates between high mountains bathed by a vast and clear sea, its history and its culture can give many and strong emotions to anyone who visits it.
