Monza is the third largest city in Lombardy by population and is known all over the world for the presence of the racetrack where the Formula One races take place. It is also one of the most productive cities in Europe as it is located in one of the largest industrial centers on the continent. However, it is also a city rich in history and several buildings and places deserve a visit: - the cathedral of Monza, the main place of worship located in Piazza Duomo, the heart of the historic center. Inside there is the Museum of the Treasure which houses several valuable works and the famous iron crown that legend has it was created with a nail from the crucifixion of Christ - Church of Santa Maria al Carrobiolo, in Romanesque style, which houses several works from the Mannerist era and Baroque frescoes - the Royal Villa, one of the symbols of the city, built during the Austrian domination and commissioned by Maria Theresa of Austria. It is possible to visit both the interiors and the gardens - the Park of Monza, a public green space of 688 hectares, among the most important in Europe both in terms of history, nature and landscape. Inside it houses the Lambro river and the racetrack - the Civic Museums with an archaeological area, and art from different currents and eras - the Mulino Colombo, the only mill that has remained intact over time, today open to the public as a museum, located on the Lambro river in full Town center.
