The name “Su furriadroxiu” derives from the Sardinian “furriài” (to retreat, to return) and therefore means “the place to return to”. The term is also associated with a single-family agro-pastoral settlement, typical of the land and agricultural structure of Southern Sardinia, now in disuse since the second half of the 20th century. Built in the early 1900s in the historic center, it was the subject of two major renovations: a first in 1952,when following a flood that destroyed the town, the house was rebuilt maintaining the load-bearing structure and in particular the walls.
