Vibonati, heart of the Gulf of Policastro

Where: vibonati
(Vibonati)
Genre: events    culture   nature

In the heart of the Gulf of Policastro, located between the borders of Calabria and Basilicata, stands Vibonati, a small Campania village in the province of Salerno. Contended between the hills and the sea, in a landscape with a strong tourist appeal, Vibonati has a historic center of medieval origin and a hamlet, Villammare, nestled on its splendid coast from which you can enjoy a breathtaking view. And it is precisely the coastal area that benefits from the influx of tourists during the bathing season, thanks to a very pleasant typically Mediterranean climate and the strong receptivity of the hotel facilities and services in the area. Returning to its ancient fulcrum, to that historic center perched on the hill, Vibonati offers us a privileged view of the Gulf of Policastro. The Church of the Santissima Annunziata, the main historical monument, has become over the years the beating heart of the city, as well as a meeting place for the faithful and not. Fervid is the programming of events, especially during the summer months, during which Vibonati expresses and offers the best of itself. Worthy of note is the one dedicated to the landing of Carlo Pisacane, a suggestive event of great importance whose echo also extends to the neighboring countries involved in that important historical event. Music, songs and dances echo through the streets of the center until September dedicated to the short film, which closes, with the Villammare Film Festival, a colorful and fascinating folkloric parenthesis corresponding to the summer months. Visiting Vibonati will be an experience that will leave you pleasantly surprised, a journey into that small, great Italy that never ceases to amaze us.
