The Salton waterfall

Where: lamon
(Lamon)
Genre: nature   fun

Lamon is a town in the province of Belluno, famous for the cultivation of beans and the breeding of sheep. The territory is located between two valleys bathed by the Cismon stream which gives rise to the Senaiga Lake, and by the Senaiga stream. The undisputed natural symbol is the Salton Waterfall. The excursion starts from San Donato towards the black water cave. The road to get to the Boal Santo path is particularly downhill and steep, it is recommended to wear clothing suitable for this type of activity, such as hiking shoes. Inside the valley there are three suspension bridges; the first bridge is made of iron and slightly downhill, on the sides of the bridge it is possible to admire a series of waterfalls. After crossing the bridge, an iron handrail appears before the eyes of hikers, leading to the bottom of the valley where the second bridge is located. The bridge built in 1940 served as a connection to the Salton control unit, unfortunately it is now slightly shabby and for this reason it is necessary to cross it using precautions. Following the course of the stream, we arrive at the third bridge, also in wood and rope, recently restored. Once you have crossed the bridge, the climb to the famous waterfalls begins. The waterfalls are a real spectacle of nature, especially in summer where a foray on the river bed, a few meters from the crash of the water, allows you to enjoy priceless coolness and a unique view. Walking along the paths of the valley allows you to fully immerse yourself in the green of nature and admire centuries-old trees and particular wild plants. Continuing to walk through the paths you reach the famous caves which are also very suggestive. The darkness of the cave allows you to listen to the sound of the water in all simplicity, allowing us to become one with nature.
