We are located in Emilia, between Bologna and Modena, in a village that is a small city rich in art and culture, we are in Correggio. In this village of the lower Reggio area, which takes its name from the Lordship of Correggio, developed between 1009 and 1635, there is the quiet of a small town and many treasures to discover. It was Ferdinand of Habsburg, in 1559 to give it the title of city, having the power to mint coins. Its historic center starts from Corso Mazzini, with its beautiful arcades that separate the center from the fortress. There is Palazzo Municipale and Palazzo della Regione, the cobbled streets lead to Via Cavour, where the Renaissance Palazzo dei Principi is located, where inside there is the library, and works of art such as those of Mantegna and Correggio . The City Museum, on the other hand, also in the building, is entirely dedicated to the great painter who bears the name of the city. In Piazza San Quirino you will find his statue and the 10th century medieval Basilica of San Quirino. The Casa del Correggio is in the old town, full of documents of the Renaissance genius.
