(Cortona)
Genre: culture   fun   folklore   useful information

We are located in Cortona, in the province of Arezzo, a splendid enchanted village IN Tuscany. Ancient Etruscan town, it is located about 500 meters above sea level, always located in a strategic point that allows you to easily visit many places of interest in a short time. According to legend, here was the foundation of Dardano, son of Jupiter and Electra, who was later founder of Troy. Visited by intellectuals from half of Europe for centuries, thanks also to its Etruscan Academy. To visit it, we start from Porta Bifora, to continue towards via Guelfa and cross Porta San Vincenzo to reach the heart of the city, Piazza della Repubblica. Here there are important historic buildings, the Town Hall of the 12th century, Palazzo Passerini, the Logge della Pescheria and delightful views between squares and Renaissance buildings. In Piazza Signorelli we will find the prestigious Palazzo Casali dating back to 1200, today the Museum of the Etruscan Academy. In Piazza del Duomo we can be enchanted by the Cathedral of 1500, which houses important works of art. In Via Jannelli you cannot miss the spectacle of the picturesque medieval houses. The relic of the saint, his pillow, is kept in the Church of San Francesco. Getting lost in the alleys of the city we find ourselves admiring a breathtaking view.
