Place Moulin lake, Aosta Valley

(Place Moulin)
Genre: nature   fun   useful information

We are in Bionaz, Valpelline, in the Aosta Valley, more precisely we take a walk that takes us to the Place Moulin lake, immersed in a landscape that looks almost like the Canadian one, made up of mule tracks for pleasant walks and inaccessible roads and paths for more adventurers. The walk takes about an hour, after leaving the car at the parking lot near the large dam. An uncontaminated territory, rich in pine trees, flowers, with its fauna made up of bees, butterflies. The lake of Place Moulin is a lake that is difficult to forget, its blue color, reminiscent of sea water, typical of mountain lakes formed by the melting of the ice, will remain imprinted for a long time in the eyes of those who decide to visit it. Formed by the River Boutie, in turn formed by waterfalls, still visible today, it is an artificial lake created through a dam which is one of the highest barrages in Europe. Going around the lake you arrive at his refuge where you can refresh yourself and eat typical mountain cuisine.
