Ventimiglia, Imperia

We are on the border with France, in Liguria, in the province of Imperia, we are in Ventimiglia, a place by the sea, enchanting and very famous all over the world, located on a hill, overlooking the Ligurian coast, an ancient and modern city. The religious presence is very strong, with the cathedral which is an incredible piece of art as a symbol of the historic center, of medieval origin, without forgetting the recently restored cloister. It has a large archaeological area, in the eastern outskirts, it preserves the remains of the Roman city, which was alive from the 2nd century AD until the late Middle Ages, the remains can be visited, in particular the theater and the baths, well preserved. The Antiquarium is a small museum on the ancient city where you can admire small artifacts and ceramics from the necropolis. The Prehistoric Museum of Balzi Rossi is important, a complex of caves that open onto the sea, excavated in 1800, where the museum that contains the historical finds that are now preserved there was built.
