We are in Castelrotto, a small town that reflects the medieval aspect, in the heart of the Dolomites. A center rich in traditions, its name derives from a Roman word. Rich in traditions, including culinary ones, to be savored in the weekly city market, which offers local spices and herbs. It has a past of two thousand years, in fact on the hills there are traces that go back to prehistoric times up to the remains of a Romanesque castle. The annual ride is known as the largest equestrian show in South Tyrol. Starting from Castelrotto with the chairlift, you can easily reach the Alpe di Marene, playgrounds, the possibility of riding and being in contact with unspoiled nature and the animals that populate its grassy mountains. The modern cable car, on the other hand, connects the city with the natural park of the plateau, where we can admire the more than two thousand and four hundred varieties of plants, which are natural and cultural heritage of UNESCO. The Alpe di Siusi is the largest plateau in Europe.
