Subbiano between antiquity and modernity

In the province of Arezzo in Tuscany, on a rocky promontory on the left bank of the Arno river, we find the small village of Subbiano. Subbiano contains all its history and the traditions connected to it in the small mill by the river, in nature and in the historic center, where traces of an indelible past are still preserved. The castle of Subbiano represents the oldest part of the village, whose tower belongs to the old building. Near the castle, there is the ancient church of the country. Another religious building, inevitable in your itinerary, is certainly the Church of Santa Maria della Visitazione, belonging to the Roman era, but completely rebuilt around 1870. Center of numerous festivals and fairs in the country, such as the Grape festival, the which gives rise to the market of the time that was, the famous costume parade of Subbiano and the fireworks, symbolizing the end of the summer period. The narrow streets of the historical center of Subbiano alternate with the medieval memory, the industrial modernity of the last century, making it one of the most active centers in the whole valley.
