Gioiosa Marea is a town that overlooks the sea and is part of the city of Messina. It is a town known and appreciated by tourists for its crystal clear sea, for the convenience of access to the beach and because it is well equipped compared to other seaside resorts, in fact it boasts many resorts and villages. Gioiosa Marea is a typically fishing village that bases its history and origins in another country, in fact its inhabitants first lived in a village called Gioia Guardia located on a height of about 800m above sea level. Gioiosa Guardia had a dominant position which was the fortune of its population, until it was destroyed and its inhabitants moved to communicate a new life close to the sea. Thus they founded Gioiosa Marea without forgetting their origins. This town not only offers the wonderful sea that distinguishes it but also has buildings of great interest such as the church of the Convent, the Tonnara, the. Church of San Rocco. It hosts natural wonders such as the Tuna cave, the Capo Cavalà naturist path that gives the tourist the opportunity to see suggestive sunsets that color the sky merging with the sea in a whirlwind of emotions for those who look at them.
