We are in Tuscany, in Arezzo, the city where one of the greatest Italian novelists and poets of the past, Francesco Petrarca, was born and lived. Located on a hilly ridge at the convergence of the basins of the Upper Valdarno, Valdichiana, Valtiberina and Casentino, on the border with Umbria, Arezzo is a city rich in culture, art, history and typical products. The historical route unfolds over various eras, initially one of the main Etruscan cities, it became an important garrison of Rome, but it was during the Middle Ages that it reached its maximum splendor. Of indisputable historical value is the Palazzo dei Priori, which overlooks Piazza della Libertà, erected in 1333, flanked by a quadrangular tower, inside one is welcomed by a courtyard from the 1500s. On the upper floors, precious works. Monumental is the Cathedral, of Gothic art, stands on the upper part of the historic center. A few steps away is the Prato, the French-style park, where we find the statue of Petrarch, one of the founding fathers of the Italian language.
