Amandola is an Italian town in the province of Fermo in the Marche region. The city received the orange flag of the Italian Touring Club; for the historical and cultural beauties and for the landscape characterized by a part included in the National Park of the Sibillini Mountains. Amandola rests on three hills of the upper Tenna valley that take their names from the castles that were present there since before its birth: Agello, Leone, and Marrubbione. The city is located on the right of the Bora stream and on the left of the Tenna river. The town has a very rich historical center thanks to its flourishing past; the city is above all a winter tourist destination thanks to its sports and recreational facilities. The economy of the city is based on the three main sectors; the agriculture of cereals and potatoes, the cultivation of fruit trees occupy a considerable portion of the work. In Amandola there are small and medium-sized industrial companies operating in the food, mechanical processing and furnishing sectors. The church of Sant'Agostino is one of the most significant buildings in the city. The building was built starting from the fourteenth century and already at the beginning of the fifteenth century it was enlarged by the prior Migliorati, after the death of the prior work continued with the construction of the bell tower and the portal in the Gothic style. The interior has a single nave with a barrel vault and dome in late Baroque decoration. The Sibillini Landscape Museum was inaugurated in the mid-2000s and tells all the landscapes of the Sibillini Mountains National Park, therefore the geological, botanical, tourist history and human work activities. Inside the museum there is a photographic collection and a model that describes the environment of the park and objects of everyday life such as a loom used in the processing of wool. Above the museum is the laboratory for the restoration of ancient objects and paintings. Typical dishes of the Marquis tradition find space in Amandola, among the main ones we have: the fregnacce of lasagna boiled and seasoned with sauce or cheese and pepper and truffle, the soup of Beato Antonio, bruschetta with summer truffles and eggs and guanciale with summer truffles.
