(Valsolda)
Genre: culture   nature   wine and food

The tour that is proposed to us in the video is in Valsolda, in the province of Como. The itinerary includes a circular tour starting from San Rocco and crossing the mountains at a height of about 900 meters. The first attractions that are proposed to us are the church dedicated to San Rocco, and the municipal chestnut wood. The first stop is Muzzaglio, an intermediate mountain near the hamlet of Castello, where there is a small church dedicated to the Madonna, which once a year is celebrated in a very heartfelt way by the people. On the way, we cross the Gorge of the Bizzo stream that comes out of Val Duslin and forms splendid waterfalls. Once in Alpe di Puria at about 1000 meters above sea level, it is possible to taste the typical local products such as bread, cold cuts and cheeses. The route continues up the mountains, crossing the rocks of the Valsolda, which have multiple origins, both from the Cretaceous and Jurassic periods, and are mainly of calcareous origin. At an altitude of 1450m we find the Cavret pass, the highest point reached during the journey. Going down we arrive at Alpe Nores where we stop for the lunch break. The route continues descending towards the bear cave, a cave typical of the Dolomite environments. Returning to the main path, we stop at Alpe Mapel, where there is a small refuge to make a small stop. Going down the path we enter the Valsolda nature reserve which is protected and preserved by local authorities. At Alpe Serte the Proloco tells about the different attractions that the territory has, not only at a natural but also at a cultural level.
