The picturesque Rhemes-Saint-Georges

Rhemes-Saint-Georges is a municipality located within the Gran Paradiso Park and a private wildlife reserve in the Aosta Valley. Its territory offers truly enviable views, so much so that it is considered a paradise for naturalists from all over the world. The town is made up of several hamlets and small villages made up of the classic stone houses typical of the mountain areas where time seems to have stopped. There are numerous churches such as the Chapel of San Bernardo and Sant'Agata built in 1700 which inside houses a valuable Baroque altar. Very simple but equally beautiful is the seventeenth-century Chapel of San Cassiano and Santa Margherita. Also picturesque is the Chapel of Saints Pantaleone and Firmino built in 1781 to avert the danger of avalanches and landslides. On its facade is represented St. George killing the dragon. Finally, the Prior Chapel built following the plague of 1629 and rebuilt after being destroyed by an avalanche is worth a visit.
