(Orosei)
Genre: culture   nature   wine and food   useful information

Orosei is a Sardinian town in the province of Nuoro which has 25 km of coastline, which is why it is one of the most popular areas for summer seaside tourism on the island. The best beaches are: Cala Ginepro, Su Barone, Cala Liberotto, Osalla and Sas Linnas Siccas. The part of the historic center is of medieval style and offers visitors the opportunity to stroll through narrow streets and ancient buildings for a charming holiday from many points of view. Places of interest in this sense are: Palazzo Musio, Casa Guiso-Satta, Casa Cabras, the Tower of Sant'Antonio Abate and the remains of the walls and the castle; but the archaeological sites of Gulunie, Rampinu, Sa Linnarta and Orgoi are also worth a visit. The natural areas along the rivers and all the humid parts are also home to a rich fauna that becomes an opportunity for sightings for enthusiasts. Until the end of the 80s it was even possible to spot the monk seal, unfortunately disappeared from these waters due to intensive tourism and fishing. Among the most valuable natural areas we mention: the Biderrosa Oasis, the Sa Mattanosa Pond, the Sa Curcurica Pond, the Cedrino Valley and obviously the entire gulf area. Do not forget the gastronomy with the typical dishes of the area: from Pane Frattau to Porceddu Sardo, from Culurgiones to Su Casizzolu.
