The beauties of Capraia

Located in the Corsican channel, the island of Capraia is a destination of absolute value. Although there are no sandy beaches, seaside tourism is still favored by coves of great beauty. To the west we find Cala del Reciso, worthy of its crystalline water and stone arches that plunge into the sea here. To the south there are Cala del Moreto and the very particular Cala Rossa, so called because of the vivid color of its rocks. It is not far from the Torre del Zenobito, one of the four coastal towers of the island, from which you can enjoy a fantastic view. The port of Capraia Isola, small and characteristic, has to offer suggestive views as well as excellent fish restaurants. The innermost inhabited points of the island are equally characteristic and blessed by the wonderful local Mediterranean scrub (even if it would be more correct to identify the local ecosystem as belonging to the garrigue). Lo Stagnone di Capraia is a small alluvial lake in the western section of the island. In addition to being a place characterized by marshy vegetation, it is known because numerous migratory birds winter there; therefore this site is a favorable destination for birdwatching.
