The main place of worship is the Mother Church of Sant'Anna, dating back to the 19th century, of neoclassical style, which dominates Piazza Rettore Filippo Evola. In Balestrate art is very present, also thanks to contemporary artists such as the master Damiano Mandalà, painter and architect who has his studio right on the main street of the town. Unmissable walk on the Balestrate belvedere, for an overview of the coast and the sea with all its shades of blue. A few steps from the beach of the village there is a pine forest also equipped for picnics. The economy of the town is based on fishing, tourism but also agriculture with the production of cereals and the presence of many winemaking establishments, some no longer in operation but which have made the history of the wine tradition, in particular the Florio, Ingham and Woodhouse.
