Impruneta is a Tuscan town in the province of Florence, located at 275 meters above sea level and has 15,000 inhabitants. Immersed in the Chianti vineyards, the beating heart of the territory of Florence, Impruneta is known as the homeland of terracotta, given the centuries-old tradition of modeling clay, creating handicrafts appreciated all over the world. It also produces excellent wine and oil, but has recently been focusing heavily on relaunching tourism. The highly photographed Basilica of Santa Maria all'Impruneta helps a lot in this work. Numerous tourist information points are emerging which also act as cultural hubs with temporary exhibitions and installations. The etymology of the name is Latin and indicates 'inside the pine forests', testifying how important the element of nature is for Impruneta. The grape festival held in mid-October is very heartfelt, attracting thousands of visitors. The famous terracotta of Impruneta is obtained from the clay of the hill below and the resulting artifacts are exported around the world in an amount of 90%. the same happens with wines, especially with the famous diadema wine.
