The reopening of Villa La Magia in Quarrata

Where: quarrata
(Quarrata)
Genre: culture   useful information

In Quarrata there is a villa from the Medici era which is a real flagship for the area, as it is the only Unesco heritage site in the province of Pistoia. Villa La Magia was closed for several months and reopened to the public with new rules at the beginning of 2021, presenting some news. In fact, the period in which it remained inaccessible to visitors provided for the development of various restoration works, the results of which were then exposed to all. Specifically, six paintings have been restored, three of which, depicting the Grand Duchess Cristina and the Grand Duke Ferdinando I De 'Medici and the Death of Cleopatra, are located in one of the rooms that can be visited. At the entrance of the villa the three tritons by Paolo Buonaccorti are visible. The villa can be visited in any of its internal rooms, except for some spaces still closed to the public, upon reservation. The visit is guided and the groups that can take part cannot exceed 15 people.
