The Costa Verde in Sardinia is located in the southwestern area of the island and is characterized by its wild beauty. One of the most famous beaches is that of Piscinas, which is characterized by high sand dunes up to 100 meters high. This is one of the largest sand systems in Europe, swept by the mistral and dotted with juniper bushes and tamarisk trees. Even National Geographic has recognized the uniqueness of this beach, enumerating it among the most beautiful in the world. Going through the Is Animas valley, on the other hand, you will come across what remains of the ancient mining plants, where about 1500 people worked in the extraction of lead, zinc and silver. Pozzo Gal and the Multimedia Museum of Mining Memory are important testimonies of how these people lived, together with the Montevecchio Mining Museum. The territory of the Costa Verde therefore combines the naturalistic beauties of the beaches (in addition to Piscinas, also Scivo) with a profound memory of the territory, reborn thanks to its particularities.
