Discovering Bardolino

Where: bardolino
(Bardolino)
Genre: culture   nature   wine and food   fun

Bardolino is a Venetian town in the province of Verona; it has 7,000 inhabitants and is located on the shores of Lake Garda. Its center looks like an ancient fishing village, a pleasant intertwining of streets that rise from the lake with scattered houses; it is these hidden corners, the cobbled streets, the flowered balconies, the ancient colored houses that reveal the new tourist identity of Bardolino. Bars, clubs, shops are scattered everywhere. Today only the two access gates to the city remain of the ancient castle and the defensive walls: Porta San Giovanni and Porta Verona, plus the stunning rectangular tower on the lakefront. Two beautiful walks, one towards Lazise and one towards Garda guarantee pleasant walks and jogging; whole km of well-maintained cycle / pedestrian paths. Bardolino offers many ideas for practicing sports, especially water sports; sailing is the most popular one, with schools and clubs. Alternatively, kayaking, water skiing and parasailing. Mountain bike rides are also very popular. Excellent local cuisine that can be enjoyed in one of the many restaurants along the lakefront. Obviously a good glass of Bardolino is not to be missed, which in any case is not the only typical product of the area, even the oil is very renowned. The north coast of Bardolino is a continuous alternation of beaches, all very popular due to the clarity of the shallow waters. The nightlife is very lively with an intense nightlife around the thousand pubs and clubs in the center.
