The open-air museum of Saludecio

Where: saludecio
(Saludecio)
Genre: culture

Saludecio is located in the hills of the Rimini hinterland, in the valley of the Conca river, once the sphere of influence of the Malatesta lordship. It is a small medieval village that had great importance between the sixteenth and nineteenth centuries, and which today attracts many visitors for its peculiarity. Following an important artistic event called the 800 Festival, the walls and streets of the historic center were covered with drawings and murals. The subjects represented are the most varied. Many are inspired by events of the nineteenth century, while others portray curious scenes or objects. Still others draw on modern brands linked to the consumer society, such as Coca Cola or Margherita pizza. Saludecio has managed, thanks to these approximately 40 works, to become part of the Italian Association of Painted Countries and looks like a real open-air museum, where at every corner you turn you can meet a surprise. Saludecio is in fact known as 'the village of paintings'.
