Discovering Giovinazzo

Where: giovinazzo
(Giovinazzo)
Genre: culture

Giovinazzo is a splendid town in the province of Bari. Among the most evocative places in the country we certainly find the port with its colorful boats and the splendid Aragonese Tower. The historic center is accessed by crossing the Arch of Trajan. Here there are several noteworthy buildings such as the Church of Santa Maria di Costantinopoli, the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta and the Palazzo Ducale. The various alleys and streets are also very picturesque, some of which are so narrow as to allow the passage of one person at a time. To visit is the Passerella sul Mare from which you can enjoy a wonderful view. The promenade along the Lungomare which extends along the Trajan's Walls is also recommended. Particular is the Church of the Holy Spirit with its trullo-shaped domes. A must try is a local gastronomic product: the Pizzella. Finally, you cannot miss a visit to Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II where you can find the splendid Fountain of the Tritons, the Palazzo del Marchese di Rende and the Church of San Domenico.
