The Dolphin Tower of Oulx

Located in the old town, the tower served as the seat of government for the officials of the King of France. The perimeter walls can be dated to around 1300, a period in which Oulx was annexed to the kingdom. Recently restored, it is possible to visit it along the alley of the Tower or climbing the stairs of the gardens of the Tour. The reception room speaks of those times, of negotiations at the fireplace, of pipes resting on elegant andirons. Upstairs, reachable by a wooden staircase, was the Delfino's house with a wide view of the access from the valley. The Tower is the ideal location, with niches, windowsills and ravines for the exhibition of the works of the school of sculpture. The nineteenth-century church of Santa Maria Assunta also awaits us nearby. The village of Oulx is appreciated for those who love trekking, with which you can reach les Auberges and Mount Seguret, at about 3000 m. Located between Sestriere and Bardonecchia, it is the ideal place to explore the natural park of the great forest of Salbertrand.
