In the latter there is the Fossil Forest consisting of about fifty tree trunks dating back to almost 2 million years ago. In this regard, there is also a Plant Paleontology Center where these incredible fossils are studied. In Santa Restituta, on the other hand, there is the Grotta Bella, a natural cavity used in ancient times as a refuge and place of worship. There are numerous churches in the town such as those of Sant'Egidio, Sant'Angelo, Madonna delle Grazie and Santissima Trinità. There are many pictorial works of great value in the latter made by the painter Bartolomeo Barbiani and restored over the years. Other noteworthy buildings are the Castle of Toscolano and the Fortification of Sismana as well as the Art Nouveau theater which hosts numerous artistic events every year. Speaking of art, the famous Mogol created a center in Avigliano where many famous singers such as Arisa were trained. Finally, do not miss the folkloristic, musical and culinary events of August Aviglianese which every year attracts thousands of tourists.
