Pontecorvo is a Lazio town in the province of Frosinone; it rises in the Liri valley at an altitude of 97 meters and has 13,000 inhabitants. Its name has been associated for years with the Pontecorvese pepper festival which is held here annually. Now in its sixth edition, it was strongly desired by the local administration to promote its best product in the area and to attract visitors in an attempt to move the entire territorial sector. The formula of the event consists in promoting the PDO pepper to visitors in all the restaurants of the city, which are unleashed in the most imaginative and varied menus possible. The versatility of the vegetable meets them, covering all types of courses, from appetizers to desserts, even daring daring combinations. Pontecorvo PDO pepper is sown in an area comprising 10 municipalities; Pontecorvo is obviously the leading country. The event is held in early October every year and has been a great success, transforming the pepper, the absolute protagonist of local agricultural production into a flywheel for the entire provincial economy.
