Triuggio is a Lombard municipality in the province of Monza and Brianza; rises 231 meters above sea level and has 8,800 inhabitants. His two artistic jewels are located in one of its hamlets, Tregasio. Strategic place, because it is a rest area located halfway along the military road of Roman origin that connected Milan with Lecco. The Rotonda by Luigi Cagnola, a neoclassical architect from the end of the 18th century, is considered the brightest jewel in the entire Brianza area. Defined as the Pantheon of Brianza, it has all the typical elements of the neoclassical style: the circular shape, the dome. But the most extraordinary element is the loggia-pronaos which is inspired by that of the Greek Erechtheion, with the Caryatids guarding the entrance. Inside the mausoleum another pearl represented by the frescoes by Raffaele Casnedi who used the local peasant women as models. The other jewel of Triuggio is represented by the Villa Sacro Cuore, a place rich in spirituality and peace. Built in 1523 by the noble Morigia, it was donated first to the Barnabite Fathers and then to the Jesuits; today it belongs to the diocese which uses it as a house of spirituality; welcomes parish groups, ecclesiastical movements, prayer groups.
