The Buca del Corno di Entratico cave is a naturalistic heritage of great value, made accessible thanks to the volunteers who every year accompany cave enthusiasts and curious tourists to discover this cavity. It is a natural cave dug by the force of the water of a river that flowed underground millions of years ago. The volunteers of the Buca del Corno Guide Group take care of the visits that take place by appointment; the cost is € 3.00 for adults for 60 minutes. The route has been adapted with walkways and is equipped with effective artificial lighting. The cave is 385 meters long and consists of Jurassic limestones and owes its origin to the widening of the cracks crossed by the water. Subsequently a small stream eroded the depth to create the cave. The stream entered through a hole which is called Foro della Laga. Inside there is the hall of the waterfall and that of the vortex from which two other tunnels start, one of which is crossed by water. The Altar room during the Neolithic was used for burials. In the waterfall room named for the waterfall-shaped stalactites. The Vortex room is the largest room in which amphibians, arachnids, bats and insects live. In the cave it is possible to admire fossils embedded in the rock. The experience of the trip to the cave is unique and allows us to know a new world to our eyes but full of antiquities.
