Castelpizzuto is a very small town in Molise, in the province of Isernia. In a few years it has experienced a rapid and drastic depopulation. In fact, its population has gone from counting a few thousand citizens to a few dozen. Yet there is an event that continues to attract even those who have left the village to seek their fortune elsewhere: the feast of San Domenico. San Domenico is co-patron of the town of Molise together with Sant'Anna and his feast is celebrated on the last Sunday of May. The religious festival revolves around the function and above all the procession. Mass is celebrated in the main church of the village, restored with funds donated by a private citizen. In 2011 Mario Romano, a resident of Canada, in fact decided to finance the restructuring of the church in his country, from which he had left but which, evidently, he had never forgotten. The procession unfolds along the alleys of Castelpizzuto, from which you can admire the many naturalistic beauties that characterize the surrounding area.
