Robbiate is a pretty Lombard town, in the province of Lecco, has 6,000 inhabitants and is located at an altitude of 265 meters. Of ancient pre-Roman origins, it is bathed by the Adda river on which there is a hydroelectric power station and a dam. There are two prestigious religious monuments: the Church of Sant'Alessandro from 1571 and the Sanctuary of the Madonna del pianto. The historic Bassi-Brugnatelli buildings dating back to 1500 are noteworthy, with a wonderful central party hall and a particular farmhouse. Villa Moncucco is also worth a visit. Piazza della Repubblica is the heart of the town, where the town hall stands. The main attraction of Robbiate, however, is certainly constituted by nature, many parks are present here, among all the villa concordia park. Outside the village, woods extend to green areas where it is possible to organize walks along the numerous nature trails where you can admire the local flora and fauna. Last note of an enological nature: the excellent Monterobbio wine from the vineyards of the same name is produced here.
