Pieve di Soligo: the fragrant vineyards and the quiet of an ancient village

Where: pieve-di-soligo
(Pieve di Soligo)
Genre: events    culture   wine and food

Pieve di Soligo is a town in the Treviso area surrounded by vineyards and bathed by the rivers Soligo and Lierza. Its economy is based on agriculture and in particular on the production of wine, which gives the town great prestige. The town is also known for being the birthplace of Blessed Giuseppe Toniolo, an economist who contributed to the establishment of a company based on the principle of help and subsidiarity. In the hamlet of Solighetto there is one of the historic villas of the city, that is Villa Brandolini d'Adda, now home to cultural events. Together with other similar residences, such as Villa Ghetti, Villa Chisini or Villa Morona, the villa is on the list of Venetian country villas. In the heart of the city is the religious building par excellence, the Duomo, dedicated to Santa Maria Assunta, an example of a mixture of different architectural and artistic styles. Among other places of worship we also mention the church of San Martino, the Church of Santa Maria Maddalena. Among the typical culinary products we can mention: Treviso radicchio, pumpkin gnocchi, guinea fowl, pomegranate and 'zuppa coada'.
