Parade of allegorical floats in Striano

Where: striano
(Striano)
Genre: events    culture   wine and food   fun   folklore

On the occasion of the carnival, the districts of Striano parade their allegorical floats. These are three days of great celebration for the boys and children of the Circomvesuviana area but also an attraction for tourists who are in the area. The Striano parade is in the circuit of the other national parades and has reached the attractive level of Viareggio. Along with the floats, dancers in costumes parade that make us dream of Brazil and a funfair is set up. The Ferris wheel rises and sets on the profile of the volcano and exorcizes any fear of living on the slopes. Living the Carnival means meeting other traditions and being able to taste dishes with the sauce of San Marzano di Striano tomatoes. The 'peeled par excellence' was donated by the King of Peru to the kingdom of Naples in 1700 and since then it cannot be done without! The pizza margherita strianese is one of the best and is a subject of study in the school for pizza makers. On the occasion of the Carnival, do not miss to visit the Church of San Giovanni Battista from 1500.
