Ultimo, a natural oasis and ski center par excellence

Today we are in a lively town in the province of Bolzano, in a wonderful natural oasis at the bottom of the valley that bears the same name: we are in Ultimo. The municipality of Ultimo was created in 1810 from the merger of the localities of Kuppelwies, Santa Gertrude, San Nicolò, San Pancrazio and Santa Valburga, and in 1950 the hamlet of San Pancrazio separated, becoming an autonomous municipality again. The municipality of the city is located in the hamlet of Santa Valburga, where we can admire a characteristic church dedicated to the patron saint of the town. This place is perfect for ski lovers, the city boasts, in fact, a varied offer between winter ski facilities and the various increasingly advanced connections, which allow you to use the chairlifts even in the summer season, for hundreds of organized excursions among the wonders of this valley. We still find a cross-country ski track that goes from Ultimo to Santa Geltrude, with a total length of 25 kilometers.
