Valbrona is a town in the province of Como at 504 meters above sea level in a valley full of woods and waters; it is part of the Lariano Triangle, a part of land enclosed between the two branches of Lake Como and embraced to the south by six small lakes. Valbrona was born as a Celtic village, evidences of it are still found in many woods; once the town was devoted to agriculture, now it is more oriented towards craftsmanship and industry, especially in the metal sector. In summer it hosts tourists who visit it for the lush green landscape, in winter it becomes almost a mountain village where you can taste wholesome food and take fresh healthy walks. You can also go from Monte Megna to the Liscione beach, without forgetting the numerous caves such as the Grotta Clementina, the Grotta della Lella, the King's Pulpit, the Grotta del Socio and many others. Other attractions are: the church of San Michele, with precious frescoes; the church of San Apollinare and Materno, where the bull of pardon is kept; the oratory of San Rocco and the Madonna della Febbre, where Christians went to pray during the period of the Plague. The greenery and the spectacular views make Valbrona the ideal place for a holiday for the clear waters of Lake Como, for the splendid peaks of the Corni di Canzo and for the nature that surrounds it.
