Castelfranco di Sotto yesterday and today

Castelfranco di Sotto is located in Tuscany, in the province of Pisa and has 13453 inhabitants. In the past it was a village with medieval walls and towers which were unfortunately demolished in the 1960s. Today only a few towers remain standing, which represent the medieval nature of this group. In the city center of Castelfranco di Sotto we can now see very suggestive and characteristic alleys and underpasses typical of medieval villages. Unfortunately, the large town hall has undergone various changes over the years, especially in the color of the facade which has led to the loss of part of its charm as it has lost the wonderful ancient nineteenth-century decorations that characterized the facade of this structure, taking on a color yellow. Not far from the center we find the sports area where there are football fields, tennis courts and a municipal swimming pool. Along the banks of the Arno we can admire an ancient mill now in disuse.
