Costa Verde, the authentic heart of Sardinia

(Costa Verde)
Genre: nature

If Sardinia were a color it would surely be blue, like its wonderful sea that surrounds it all and that paints a thousand and more shades around this land. Yet its south-western coast is brushed with a splendid green, the result of the Mediterranean scrub that has made this island its natural habitat. Costa Verde, toponym of the area that we will cross today in our virtual tour, is a coastal stretch that extends for about 50 km between Capo Frasca and Capo Pecora. In between there are splendid and uncontaminated beaches, such as those of Piscinas, Scivu and Torre dei Corsari, dotted with mastic, broom, strawberry tree and juniper, the typical vegetation of this stretch of Mediterranean coast perennially exposed to the mistral winds. Characteristic of these places is an almost total virginity to mass tourism, mainly poured into the north of the island, and which offers its visitors priceless moments of relaxation in contact with unspoiled nature. Faunal species such as the loggerhead turtle and the Sardinian deer are two symbolic specimens that have elected the area as their privileged residence. Costa Verde is the heart of a wild and unspoiled Sardinia, ideal for tourists looking for that authentic beauty that only certain corners of paradise like this one can give.
