Ivrea, the industrial city of Olivetti, a UNESCO heritage site

Where: ivrea
(Ivrea)
Genre: culture   useful information

Ivrea is a Piedmontese town which since 2018 is the 54th Italian Unesco site. The area of the town that earned this important recognition is the industrial city created by the visionary mind of Adriano Olivetti, a well-known Italian businessman and politician. The city was built between the 30s and 60s of the twentieth century starting from the Olivetti industrial center, already present since 1908, and expanding with residential, industrial and social buildings of extraordinary quality. Adriano enters his father's company and realizes how important the well-being of his employees and the bond with the territory are for the company, creating a city center that was welcoming, beautiful and innovative. Factories are therefore a workplace that should not bury its workers, but an open environment where you can feel good, perfectly immersed in the territory and greenery. As innovative only his ideas. Olivetti was already a point of reference in the production of typewriters and calculators, with Adriano becoming the focal point of information technology in Italy and in the world.
