Arpino is a municipality of Frosinone which extends into the middle valley of the Liri river. It is an ancient municipality and the old acropolis bears witness to its history. Still well preserved are the surrounding walls, imposing and megalithic, dating back to the 7th century Volsci people. The center of the village is Piazza Municipio which stands on the site of the ancient Roman forum, of which a vasolato is visible in the center of the square, which represents the fulcrum of city activity. On the side of the square you can see the monument dedicated to Gaius Mario, and near it the imposing collegiate church of San Michele Arcangelo. Not only a place of worship but the custodian of many works of art, such as the canvas by Francesco Curia depicting the baptism of Jesus. The Tulliano boarding school also overlooks Piazza Municipio, with its facade decorated with three busts of emperors. The school owes its name to the illustrious orator, born in the village, Marco Tullio Cicerone, and collaborates with the Certamen Ciceronianum Arpinas association to which an annual event is linked during which students from all over the world can try their hand at Cicero's works. Next to the institute it is also possible to admire the statue dedicated to him. Also on the square overlooks the Boncompagni palace, the ancient seat of the town hall, today the seat of the Umberto Mastroianni Foundation, a local artist, which collects works and information. Works that are also visible in part throughout the country.
