Where: cerveteri
(Cerveteri)
Genre: culture   nature   folklore

We are located in Lazio, in the ancient and beautiful Cerveteri, very close to the coast, which is one of the historical centers of the region richest in art and archeology. It rises in an area dotted with castles, villages, archaeological sites, such as the famous Necropolis of Banditaccia, ghost towns and protected areas. There are numerous churches of artistic interest such as the Church of Santa Maria Maggiore and the Church of Sant'Antonio Abate from 1100, with fascinating frescoes kept inside, all from different eras. In the historic center, the Church of the Madonna dei Canneti from 1600 is also suggestive, as is the Church of San Michele Arcangelo from 1700. One of the most visited attractions is the Ruspoli Castle, in the heart of the center, built in the Middle Ages, which houses the Museum. Archaeological Cerite, which houses a real historical treasure. Leaving the center, you absolutely must see the Necropolis of Banditaccia, a UNESCO heritage site, and moving away a little further, the Castle of Santa Severa and the spectacular waterfalls of Castel Giuliano.
